About Me Although I am a Christian and have been one for the last six years, i have no idea what my chosen denomination is. i have gone to MANY different churches over the years - community, Pentecostal, Lutheran, Churches of God, Mennonite Brethren... but i think i am a Baptist. or a Pentecostal.
Music quoting my music teacher: it doesn't matter what type of music it is - it's how it makes you feel. music that makes ME feel great is Norma Jean and chaos-core in general, Showbread, and any of that crazy techno music, as long as the words are nice and clean (i LOVE "We Like to Party" by the Vengaboys)
Movies anything involving sarcastic humor i love, or anything involving manhunts or journeys (i.e., The Fugitive, LOTR, Fly Away Home)
    Books theology, children's fiction, suspense/horror
Likes garage sales, traveling, cherry or mint ice cream, the color green, being outside
Dislikes being like everyone else, legalism, injustice
Hobbies writing stories, climbing trees, traveling (when the opportunity arises), drawing cartoons, reading, goofing off with brother
Virtues creative, humorous (i hope), self-sacrificing (can also be a vice at times, i guess)
Heroes missionaries, martyrs of the Christian faith, Christian bands that get made fun of, non-conformists

Regarding Showbread and the Showbread Experience

Thursday, November 15, 2007, 02:55 PM GMT [General]

here's a little poem i wrote about one of the most unusual and wonderfully unique music groups of our time. i tried to capture a little of who they are, where their inspiration comes from, and what they represent. for further explanations, please visit the Wikipedia article entitled "Showbread."

"Regarding Showbread and the Showbread Experience"

    Romero. Hooper. Burroughs. Kafka.

    Christianity versus nihilism.

    Humankind as reptiles.

    Kidnappings, aliens, and cowboys.

Nine Inch Nails. Queen. The White Stripes. Johnny Cash.

    Pop culture meets Goth culture.

Cowboy boots. Surgical masks. Fishnet stockings.

Hair dye. Eye shadow. Black nail polish.

    Chainsaws and drum machines.

    Punk. Hardcore. Garage rock. Screamo.

Life, kisses, and other wasted efforts.

    Guitar. Bass. Drums. Synth.

No sir, nihilism is not practical.

    Singing. Screaming.

    Oh! Emetophobia!

American horror movies and European literature.

    Black. White.

    Blonde. Brunette.

    Blood brothers. Brothers in Chirst.

    God, girlfriends, and gore.

    Funny Georgian accents.

The Raw Rock Movement. Raw Rock Militia.

    Raw Rock Kills.

But I made it out alive.

whatever you think of this poem, to me it is a celebration of freedom in Christ and anti-legalism. Legalism is such a hindrance in Christian culture. We're turning people away by being too legalistic, and my challenge to the reader is to be as open-minded as possible without denying your faith.

don't be legalistic, but NEVER GIVE UP THE FAITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    what's with the greyhounds???

ever since i was thirteen (ok, six years ago) and i found out about how a lot of greyhounds are put to sleep when they are done racing, i felt sorry for them. such a sad fate.

i wanted to get a greyhound but nooooo!

no one else in my family seemed to share my sentiments.

     anyways, gotta go.

    peace out.
