here's a little poem i wrote about one of the most unusual and wonderfully unique music groups of our time. i tried to capture a little of who they are, where their inspiration comes from, and what they represent. for further explanations, please visit the Wikipedia article entitled "Showbread."

Humankind as reptiles.
Kidnappings, aliens, and cowboys.
Nine Inch Nails. Queen. The White Stripes. Johnny Cash.
Pop culture meets Goth culture.
Cowboy boots. Surgical masks. Fishnet stockings.
Hair dye. Eye shadow. Black nail polish.
Chainsaws and drum machines.
Punk. Hardcore. Garage rock. Screamo.
Life, kisses, and other wasted efforts.
Guitar. Bass. Drums. Synth.
No sir, nihilism is not practical.
Singing. Screaming.
Oh! Emetophobia!
American horror movies and European literature.
Black. White.
Blonde. Brunette.
Blood brothers. Brothers in Chirst.
God, girlfriends, and gore.

But I made it out alive.
whatever you think of this poem, to me it is a celebration of freedom in Christ and anti-legalism. Legalism is such a hindrance in Christian culture. We're turning people away by being too legalistic, and my challenge to the reader is to be as open-minded as possible without denying your faith.
don't be legalistic, but NEVER GIVE UP THE FAITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
